Friedman Family Speakers and Artist Fund

“The people at Kol Hadash are authentic and are willing to talk about intellectual and philosophical things. I appreciate that these conversations create a deep connection; not just small talk.”

 — Laura B., Arlington Heights

“We enjoy Rabbi Adam, the membership and the services. Kol Hadash’s message continues to be meaningful and rewarding in our senior years.”

— Bill G., Lincolnshire

The Friedman Fund was established in 2016 in memory of Felice Friedman, the wife of our Rabbi Emeritus Daniel Friedman.  The Friedman Fund honors Felice for her decades of work in the creation of Humanistic Judaism in Chicagoland, as an educator, mitzvah tutor, intermarriage workshop leader, and choir member, where she helped create many songs in our choir’s current repertoire.

The Friedman Fund has sponsored a private concert by the Maxwell Street Klezmer Band, and a talk by New York-based filmmaker Chris Johnson about his documentary, A Better Life.  (people  seeking meaning and joy without belief in a supernatural power), and a program by Reverend Barry Lynn, Executive Director of Americans United for the Separation of Church and State.
